Guest BagPuss Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 Well, I'm after a set of Alloys having sold the original 16's that I bought. So I've found a few different wheels within my price range. Soooooo Which ones? 5 Spoke (Same as what's on the Sciroccc)http://www.btinternet.com/~scirocco/Galaxy/Galaxy_PhotoShop.jpg 7 Spokehttp://www.btinternet.com/~scirocco/Galaxy/Galaxy_PhotoShop_1.jpg Multi-Spokes (The other half likes these, but she hasn't got to clean them :16: )http://www.btinternet.com/~scirocco/Galaxy/Galaxy_PhotoShop_2.jpg Chunky 5 Spoke (I like these)http://www.btinternet.com/~scirocco/Galaxy/Galaxy_PhotoShop_3.jpg Or Stick with the Hub Caps? :P And I know some pic's aren't to scale, it was just done very very quickly. :P
mumof4 Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 well i have the chunky 5 spokes which i like...(but need new ones!!) The ones you show are ever so slightly different..mine are solid where they connect with the outer edge. They were perfect when we got the car and considering how long ive been driving,i cant take the blame for scuffing them!! :16:

mumof4 Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 I'm no scuffer!!!I go up the kerbs not along them!! :D :D :D
Ivor_E_Tower Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 The Audi RS ones look best IMHO (something like www.roachford wheels); of the above, I prefer the Scirroco ones
NikpV Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 Just wondering - could they be designed with a slight dish in then so that the only bit that gets scuffed when SWMBOWSW is the outer rim?
Masked Marauder Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 Thin spokes are too thin, chunky too fat! Get some Compomotive MOs.......
steve67car Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 18"rs6 rims are pucka would say that as thats what i have with a bit bit of adrop 80mm ish to be presice which = no gap between arch and rubber happy days :P
Guest BagPuss Posted June 29, 2006 Report Posted June 29, 2006 Well, I'm sticking to 15's the same as the Scirocco. :P Reason is as most have said, which is kerbing, scuffing etc. Never scuffed the Scirocco ones and they've been on there about 4 or 5 years, yet all the 16's+ I see are like a 50p piece.
jkspoff Posted June 30, 2006 Report Posted June 30, 2006 I like the 5 spoke best, but I'm afraid I am a bit boring, as I like the original alloys that come with a car from the manufacturer, or if they didn't then buy some original part second hand off ebay or somewhere. I just got a set of 4 off ebay for the wifes Scenic II, they are off a 53 plate Megane and look stunning on, second hand with decent tyres (original set with 3/4 tread left), genuine seller upgraded to after market ones, its made a basic spec car look like top spec model. All for
Guest MATT jr Posted July 1, 2006 Report Posted July 1, 2006 i like the 1st pic, the 5 spoke, the best,,,, but dont rele, rele like any of them :P MJR
Guest 3.5bullet Posted July 1, 2006 Report Posted July 1, 2006 why go to all the hassle of photo shopping a couple of pictures! :P let someone else do it for you :P take a look here you can even choose the same colour car as yours :) so you know what it looks like for real
greg_68 Posted July 1, 2006 Report Posted July 1, 2006 Great site 3.5 Personally I don't think fancy wheels suit the Galaxy especially the thin spoke of whatever amount 5,7 etc. I like these, simple but would look good. seatkid Posted July 3, 2006 Report Posted July 3, 2006 :( Can't see the option to vote for the hub caps .....are you trying to turn your Galaxy into a Corsa cruiser? :)
Guest BagPuss Posted July 3, 2006 Report Posted July 3, 2006 :) Can't see the option to vote for the hub caps .....are you trying to turn your Galaxy into a Corsa cruiser? B) Yep, forgot to add the Hub Caps and couldn't edit it in :D As for the Corsa Cruiser....defo not. Its just the Pimp-Mobile :(
sanjsanj Posted July 11, 2006 Report Posted July 11, 2006 are those multi spoke ones the same as these? by the way: these take a VV long time to clean....best to go with one that has fewer spokes!
